- 3 min read
Welcome to the first public release of Find a Range.
This launch focuses on discoverability, accurate listings, and simple management tools for shooting ranges, clubs, and outdoor organizations.
Our goal with v1.0 is to make it easy to discover, verify, and maintain high-quality range information—while laying the foundation for future member and partner tools.
Search & Discovery:

Search by Clubs
Allows visitors to search our list of clubs/facilities. This aligns with how a traditional directory operates.
Search by Ranges
Allows visitors to dive deeper and browse individual firing lanes, helping them find exactly what they need.
Optional Filtering
Filter by organization type (members-only vs public)
Filter by amenities or range offerings
Results update instantly without reloading the page

Listing Pages
Each organization has a dedicated, SEO-friendly listing page that includes:

Basic contact information
Website (when available)
Members Only vs Public
Verified range details and amenities
Verified membership offerings
Clear “last updated” date to improve trust and accuracy
Listings are designed to work equally well for:
New shooters looking for a place to practice
Families evaluating clubs
Clubs improving their online presence
Profile Types
Find a Range supports multiple profile roles from day one:

Club Administrators
Claim/Submit a listing
Edit range and membership details
Maintain accurate public information
Volunteers
Submit new listings to help grow the directory.
Volunteers do not have editing access to existing listings.
Permissions are designed to ensure you only see what you need to.
Claim a Listing
Organizations can now claim their listing to take ownership and keep information accurate.
What claiming enables:
Confirms the organization’s relationship to the listing
Unlocks Update Listing and Range Management
Allows ongoing maintenance without platform intervention
How it works:
Logged-in users can claim an existing listing by entering the organization name and ZIP Code.

Claiming is optional but strongly recommended for organizations that want full control over their public presence.
Submit a Listing
For organizations not yet listed, Volunteers or the club administrator can submit a new one:
Simple submission form for new ranges and clubs
Supports partial information to lower friction
Submissions are reviewed before publishing to maintain data quality
This ensures the directory grows responsibly and remains useful.
Update Listing
Claimed organizations can:

Edit club details (name, phone, website, address)
Manage hours of operation
Update descriptions and visibility fields
Keep listings accurate without needing technical help
Changes publish cleanly and are reflected across the platform, with no technical experience required.
Configure Ranges

Organizations can manage multiple ranges under a single listing, including:
Individual range names and descriptions
Allowed firearm or activity types
Safety notes and usage guidelines
Range-specific details displayed directly on the public listing
This keeps complex facilities organized without overwhelming visitors.
Configure Memberships
Organizations can manage multiple memberships under a single listing, including:
Membership Name
Renewal Frequency
Application Information such as cost, and process.
Configure “Renew Now” and “Apply Now” buttons

This allows you to decide how prospective members find, and apply to your organization.
Dashboard
The dashboard acts as the control center for logged-in users:
View listing status and claim state
Quick access to update or submit listings
Visibility into supported tools and next steps
Clear messaging when no listing is connected yet
The dashboard is intentionally lightweight in v1.0, with more features planned in future releases.
Built for What’s Next
Find a Range is being developed as part of a growing suite of tools and services designed specifically for shooting clubs and outdoor organizations.
This initial release focuses on discoverability and accurate listings, but the underlying structure is intentionally built to support expansion over time.
Upcoming enhancements will include:
Richer listing content such as FAQs, policies, and member guidance
Dynamic layouts that automatically hide missing or unconfigured fields for cleaner pages
Expanded listing sections as organizations add more detail
Deeper connections between listings and administrative tools
As new features are introduced, listings will continue to evolve without breaking existing pages or workflows.
This approach allows clubs to start simple today and grow into more powerful tools when they’re ready.
